- In the paper, the dissipative material and other conventional acoustic materials are studied in conditions which simulates actual vehicle application with acoustic leakage. The various acoustic materials are evaluated in the lab with acoustic leakage existing in steel panel experimentally and virtually in computer simulation with the estimated Biot’s parameters of the materials. Often, the acoustic leakages exist in actual vehicle condition in pass-through or mounting faster locations. The work includes in-vehicle test results on application and show how the dissipative material works.
